How close are you to professional burnout? How to understand: you were attacked by a temporary spleen or fatigue, or is it time to radically change something?

I'll start with statistics that show that the problem is not far-fetched: in Japan, the average vacation is 8-9 days a year, resting longer is considered bad manners. According to official data, about 500 people a year die from processing in Japan, according to unofficial data - several thousand. In Australia, to cope with stress at work, 61% of people start drinking, 41% gamble, 31% take drugs. In Canada, 51% of employees experience severe stress at work, 25% of them feel physically ill in the workplace due to stress. I did not find similar statistics for Russia, but there is evidence that 70% of the population of all regions are depressed, and, accordingly, at risk, plus, according to Bloomberg, Russia has entered the top most stressful countries. A significant share of stress in any scenario falls on work. But how to understand and feel that it is time to change something? Temporarily tired and will pass by itself or the body tells us that it needs help?
After analyzing my experience of internal burnout, as well as the experience of former colleagues who have left Germany WhatsApp Number List the company over the past 10 years, I have identified several points by which you can determine whether you are in this stage or not. I do not take into account the scenario when a more interesting position is found - such a reason for leaving the current job is understandable - but I will analyze situations when people leave because they "burn out" or worse - they are fired because the burnout is noticeable from the outside and no one ready to step in and help. How to feel that the moment of short circuit is close?

Below are a few points that can serve as "beacons", saying that something is not going according to plan.

third party thoughts

If most of the working day you surf the Internet, go for a smoke break or a cup of coffee with one or another colleague or, for example, read this article, and at the same time your head is not full of work projects, it’s worth considering.

Pseudo Sunday

Not Monday, not even an alarm clock. You stopped enjoying Sunday night. Thoughts that you have to work tomorrow weigh on you.

We are not talking about those people who, in principle, cannot arrive at work on time. It is worth considering when you realize that over time you have stopped rushing. You do not think that you are late, because you weren't in a hurry.

You feel like you know everything about your job and the challenges you might face. No, you do not consider yourself a know-it-all and a great expert, but at the same time, the drive to learn something new in your industry, master innovative business processes, attend thematic conferences, read relevant articles or literature, or, moreover, suggest what - some improvements.
