Five years seems like an eternity. If you had told me five years ago what we would end up achieving, I wouldn't have believed it. Back then, we were a team that could be counted on one hand in a small shared office with the dream of building a more stable cryptocurrency platform for our users. While I wish I could say that we had a master plan to become the largest digital asset platform and contribute to the growth of the Web3 industry around the world, the truth is that is not true.
We knew that people were looking for a more secure platform and a better user experience, and we have always felt that if we took care of our users, they would take care of us. We may not have done everything right, but we absolutely got that right.
Since 2017, the team has grown 200-fold, and there are now Binancians from all over the world. Our platform is available in 18 languages, we help power a blockchain with over 2.4 billion transactions to date and serve over 120 million users. Together, we have evolved and established ourselves as leaders in one of the fastest evolving sectors in the world. Without a doubt, this is a great responsibility that has been entrusted to us and that we should not take for granted.
We owe everything we have today to the trust our users place in us. But trust is much easier to lose than to gain, so being user-centric remains at the heart of our values. Every day we wake up determined to show our users why we deserve their continued support. We must fulfill our commitment to protect them and, at the same time, stimulate growth and innovation in the sector in a sustainable and responsible way.
Our anniversary is a perfect opportunity to reflect on our beginnings and our past. It is also a good time to look forward and codify our aspirations for the next five years as we continue to grow and serve the Binance community.
Building the foundation of the Binance ecosystem
On July 14, 2017, (virtually) opened its doors to users looking for a new cryptocurrency trading experience. The team and I shared the fundamental vision of bringing financial power to the masses, like so many others convinced of the benefits of blockchain, but we knew that there had to be better alternatives to the options that were available to users at that time. The public needed a trusted, intuitive and simple market in which to operate with cryptocurrencies, and that is what we set out to build.
Today we have an ecosystem Ecuador Mobile Number List that serves more than 120 million users, a figure that far exceeds the wildest expectations you could have had back in 2017. And these are not the typical users you see elsewhere: they are Binancians. They support our ecosystem and have created the welcoming and supportive environment that we have today. They are at the center of what we do, and for that I am truly grateful.
An expansion driven by user demand
For many, Binance is synonymous with our exchange platform. Our exchange services remain one of our core offerings, and we continue to lead the industry in terms of daily exchange volume.
Since 2017, we have significantly expanded our product lines in response to user demands for access to innovative new offerings powered by blockchain. Today, our catalog offers something for everyone. From Trust Wallet, CoinMarketCap, Binance NFT and Binance Earn, we meet virtually any need within blockchain and cryptocurrencies. Last year, we also introduced Auto-Invest, Binance Live, Learn and Earn, and many more new services that we are proud to add.
We empower users through education
The biggest risk we face as a sector is the growing gap between new users coming to the market and those who truly understand what blockchain and cryptocurrencies are. Education has, of course, been another pillar on which Binance has built its reputation. Binance Academy, Learn and Earn, and Binance Masterclass are essential elements to educate our users and help them make more responsible and informed decisions.
As in any other field, In knowledge about the world of cryptocurrencies, as in any other, knowledge is power. It allows Binancians to make decisions with confidence and know when they need help. If we can instill that attitude in the majority of cryptocurrency users, over time, responsible and successful mass adoption will practically be a reality.
BNB Chain grows and becomes an independent network
One of our most valuable achievements has been participating in the development and growth of BNB Chain. We have seen the benefits that an affordable, efficient, community-managed and EVM-compatible blockchain brings to Binancians. In the last year alone, BNB Chain has recorded over 2.4 billion transactions and hosted over 1,200 projects. It is the most active 1st layer network, with a prosperous history and its own ecosystem. Like a proud father, we have watched her grow, flourish, and begin her own path.
