You have the right to request deletion of certain of your personal data. For more information about this and the circumstances in which we may comply with your request, please refer to the "Deletion" section of Section 2 "Your Rights and Controls over Your Personal Data" .
You can also delete certain personal data directly from the Spotify Service: for example, you can change or remove your profile picture. Where users can review and update personal data, we retain the information for as long as they wish, unless one of the limited purposes described below applies.
Data that expires after a specific period

Data retained for extended periods for limited purposes
After your account is deleted, we retain certain data for a longer period of time, but for very limited purposes. For example, we may be required to do so by law or contract, such as under data retention laws, government orders to retain data relevant to an investigation, or data retained for dispute resolution purposes. We may also retain data that has been deleted from the Spotify Service for a period of time, including for the following reasons:
to ensure the safety of users;
to protect us from harmful content on our platform.
This allows us to investigate potential violations of our User Guidelines and Platform Guidelines . Conversely, we will remove infringing content if required to do so by law.

       

7. Transfer to other countries
Given the global reach of our business, Spotify shares personal data internationally with Spotify group companies, processors and partners to provide you with the Spotify Service. They may process your data in countries whose data protection laws are not considered as strict as EU laws or those that apply in your country of residence. For example, they may not give you the same rights over your data.

Whenever we transfer personal data internationally, we use tools to:

ensure that the transfer of data complies with applicable law;
allow us to guarantee the same level of protection of your data as within the EU.
To ensure that each data transfer complies with applicable European legislation, we use the following legal mechanisms:

Standard Contractual Clauses (“ SCCs ”). These clauses require the other party to protect your data, and provide you with protections and rights equivalent to those in the EU. For example, we use SCCs to transfer the personal data described in Section 3 “Personal Data We Collect About You” to our hosting provider that uses servers in the United States. You can exercise your rights under the SCCs by contacting us or the third party processing your personal data.
Adequacy Decisions . We transfer personal data to countries outside the European Economic Area that have adequate laws to protect personal data, as defined by the European Commission. For example, we transfer the personal data described in Section 3 “Personal Data We Collect About You” to providers based in Canada, Japan, the Republic of Korea, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland.
